STREAMING NEWS

★Pixar's new series Cars on the Road will debut on Disney+ September 8. The Disney+ Original series follows Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and his best friend Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country road trip to meet up with Mater's sister.

★Milo Manheim will star opposite Peyton List in the Paramount+ series School Spirits (working title), a YA drama based on Nate & Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen’s upcoming graphic novel. School Spirits focuses on a teen (List) stuck in the afterlife who decides to investigate her mysterious disappearance alongside a group of other students who are also stuck in limbo at their high school. The book is planned for publication in Fall 2023.

★The Boys' Cameron Crovetti, who recurred in Season 2 and 3 as Ryan, son of Homelander, has been promoted to a series regular for the fourth season. Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward will also join as series regulars. Curry will play Firecracker and Heyward will play Sister Sage.

TV NEWS


★Fans of Big Brother UK got some good news today as the series, which has not aired since 2018, will be making its return to the airwaves in 2023, moving from Channel 5 to ITV. The news was announced at the end of the Season 8 finale of Love Island UK.

★The 20th season of Bravo's Top Chef will head to London and feature 16 of the best Top Chef 'cheftestants' from around the world. Host Padma Lakshmi, head judge Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons will return as the greatest competitors from Top Chef iterations around the globe, including winners and finalists, will face off in the fiercest battle the culinary competition has ever seen. With 29 international versions, Top Chef World All-Stars will bring together 16 of the most talented, creative and decorated chefs who have competed in their respective countries' versions of the series as they vie for the ultimate Top Chef title. The epic season will premiere in 2023.


★NBC has renewed Weakest Link for a 'super-sized' third season, which will consist of 20 episodes, Previous seasons have had 13 episodes. Jane Lynch will return to host, 'very much looking forward to a third season of mocking contestants and encouraging discord.' Now if she would only explain to them exactly what a chain is.

★WOW: Women of Wrestling will premiere in Syndication during the weekend of September 17. WOW is the only all-female wrestling organization with a global TV footprint. The series has been cleared in 100% of the US, including the CBS-owned-and-operated stations, Sinclair Communications, Nexstar Broadcasting, Hearst Television, TEGNA Media, Weigel Broadcasting, Gray Media and Cox Television. Internationally, the show has been licensed in Canada, Australia and Indonesia.

★Showtime has opted to not move forward with a second season of The First Lady.

★Schitt's Creek star Emily Hampshire is set to star in the raunchy female comedy D-Day. The story follows newly divorced and sexually inexperienced Kate, as she’s encouraged by her friends to get back out there. Of course Kate has certain standards so she’s not going to settle for just anyone but she’s determined to make her ex’s wedding day her D-Day.
