Smith noted that the plug was pulled on the project months before the Warner Bros.-Discovery merger. A Green Lantern series that was greenlit at the same time appears to be moving forward.

★The Golden Globes are coming back to television. After skipping the 2022 ceremony because of internal issues involving the diversity of the membership and leadership and unethical conduct behind the scenes, NBC is satisfied with the changes the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has made and is looking to air the awards ceremony on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. The ceremony is generally held on a Sunday in January but the first Sunday is New Year's Day, the second is the last day of the NFL season which would conflict with NBC's Sunday Night Football, and the third Sunday has already been claimed by the Critics Choice Awards.

★Marlon Wayans' semi-autobiographical comedy series Book of Marlon has a new home. Originally developed at HBO Max as part of an overall deal Wayans had signed, the show is moving to the Starz premium cable channel. Wayans would play a fictionalized version of himself, exploring his professional life as a comedian and actor, as well as his personal life as he attempts to reconcile being a good person and loving father with being Marlon. The series is still being produced by Warner Bros. Television.
