Nothing is known about their characters, but sources say Cox and Slate are providing voices for CGI characters.

★Wanda Sykes will be hosting a new viral video series titled Ring Nation, which features videos captured by Ring doorbells. The series will feature clips such as neighbors saving neighbors, marriage proposals, military reunions and silly animals, and will launch September 26 in Syndication (check local listings for time and channel). The show is produced by MGM Television which was recently acquired by Amazon, which also owns Ring. Corporate synergy at its best!

★Lifetime has announced two movies for the 2022 'It's a Wonderful Lifetime' holiday slate. EGOT winner Rita Morena, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Emily Kinney and Justin Gaston will star in Santa Bootcamp, directed by Melissa Joan Hart, and Sarah Drew will reunite with Justin Bruening in Reindeer Games Homecoming, which Drew will also executive produce and write.

★Cable provider Charter Communications is winding down its Spectrum Originals productions as head Katherine Pope is leaving the company to take over Sony Pictures Television. Spectrum, which rescued Bad Boys spin-off LA's Finest after it was dropped by NBC and produced the Mad About You revival, as well as Joe Pickett, The Bite and Paradise Lost, still has a few productions in the pipeline like sci-fi series Beacon 23 (which was renewed for a second season before the first has aired), dramedy Panhandle and miniseries George & Tammy (which will also be available on Paramount Network and Paramount+). What will happen to the shows after the shutdown is unknown. Some may still run on Spectrum while others may revert back to the original producers who can shop them to other outlets.

★ABC's 20/20 will reunite the cast of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella to celebrate the TV special's 25th anniversary. The 1997 production starred Brandy and Whitney Houston. The film's surviving cast including Brandy, Paolo Montalban, Jason Alexander, Whoopi Goldberg, Victor Garber, Bernadette Peters and Veanne Cox will return for the special on August 23, which will be followed by a broadcast of the movie for the first time in 20 years. The special will also feature behind-the-scenes footage with Whitney Houston.
