★Amazon's Freevue will be developing a sequel series to Who's the Boss? with Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano reprising their original roles. The series will be executive produced by Normal Lear. No word on if Judith Light may make an appearance.

★Melissa Benoist and her production company Three Things Productions have renewed their overall deal with Warner Bros. Television as Benoist boards the HBO Max series The Girl on the Bus. She will star as Sadie McCarthy, a journalist who romanticizes Tim Crouse’s Boys on the Bus book and who scrapped her whole life for her own shot at covering a presidential campaign for the paper of record. Sadie hits the trail and eventually bonds with three female competitors. Despite their differences, the women become a found family with a front-row seat to the greatest soap opera in town: the battle for the White House. The series is inspired by a chapter in Amy Chozick's book Chasing Hillary.


★The BBC ordered a second season of thriller Sherwood just moments after the conclusion of the first season, David Morrissey and Leslie Manville starred in the six-part series inspired by events that took place in the Nottinghamshire mining village.

★HGTV's Inside Out returns for a second season on Monday, August 1 at 8:00 PM. Southern California home renovators Carmine Sabatella and Mike Pyle work with clients who want a stunning home transformation inside and out - and they'll make sure they get both in a new eight-episode season.

★NBC has ordered an eight-episode unscripted series Surviving Earth, which shows how life not only survived during the cataclysmic events of the prehistoric era, but thrived. The series aims to find what lessons can be learned from past mass extinctions.

★HBO has finally made it official, announcing the pick-up of a fourth season of True Detective with the subtitle "Night Country". The series will co-star boxer, actress and motivational speaker Kali Reis with star Jodie Foster making her first TV appearance as an adult. The series will be filmed in Iceland and is described as: "When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the six men that operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”

★CBS' Fall reality dating series The Real Love Boat has chosen its hosts -- Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell. The series will premiere October 5 at 9:00 PM.


★Universal Pictures is pushing back the release date for Illumination's Migration from friday, June 30, 2023 to Friday, December 22, 2023. The move takes it out of the way of Indiana Jones 5, but will now face off against Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and an untitled Star Trek project. Migration is billed as a modern-day comedy following a family of ducks who convince their over-protective father to go on the vacation of a lifetime as they attempt to migrate from New England, through New York City, and ultimately down to the Bahamas.

★A sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife has been confirmed for release on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. As hinted at in the end credits of Afterlife, the next chapter will return to the original films’ New York City and firehouse setting. It is currently set to open against Paramount's animated The Tiger's Apprentice and Warner Bros. film adaptation of the Broadway musical The Color Purple.


★Jim Parsons will star in an Off Broadway revival of A Man of No Importance, the 2002 musical featuring a book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. Performances will begin Tuesday, October 11 with an official opening set for Sunday, October 30. The show will have a limited run through Sunday, December 4.
